Writing Challenge - Day 2

Write something that someone told you about yourself that you never forgot.

I love Instagram. I do.  It's a great place to connect with people with photos.  Being a photographer, I love to share images that I have captured.  It's a great way to stay connected with my family, and to stay connected with friends.  I'm often posting things about how quickly time flies and to cherish every moment with family.  And it's more just because that's how I truly feel.  But one day I had a private DM, and it was a young Mom and she was asking my advice about what it was like to go from 2-3 boys.  We chatted back and forth and at one point she said "your life with your three boys inspires me".  I remember thinking "really, my life feels like a blur at times"....but it made me proud to think that people see the love and connection I have with my kids.  And that I actually "inspire" someone.  I always feel like I'm not making much of a difference in the world, and to hear a younger Mom say she is even the slightest bit inspired by me really made me feel like I'm doing something right as a Mom.

It also was a lesson in speaking up, and when you see something good in someone, tell them.  Compliment people.  Acknowledge that you noticed.  It can change someone's day in a good way to pay a compliment.  I smile when I think of what this young mom said about my life with my kids and it makes me very proud, even if there are days where I realize why some animals eat their young. ;)
